I don’t know about the rest of the world, but for me when I got hodgkins Lymphoma. I was told that there was no evidence to people getting my cancer through life style. Ie drinking or smoking, or eating. So for me I was not being told to give up cigerettes and it’s not going to give me a better chance of not getting it again by not smoking. So I didn’t, I smoked throughout my whole cancer exsperience. Even when I was in treatment I still smoked at home. .
How I gave up smoking.

Oh, that’s disappointing – I’ve had that happen before. Without reading further, I already know you wrote something great and inspiring. I know someone who can’t quit smoking and is literally edging closer to death because of it. It’s one tough addiction to quit.
Especially, as I can see at the beginning of your post – it offered you some comfort to your suffering.
I hope you’ll finish this post when you’re up to it.

I don’t know what the rest of yours said, but for me is was a real chore. I’d developed chronic bronchitis, my Dr. said, “every time you get this it will damage your lungs a little more, and make it easier to get the next time..
I had 4 little kids. I was addicted. So I’d sneak up to the bathroom so no one would know. But then I’d open the door and all four of them would be sitting in a ring saying, “Mommy, You’re going to die.” That did it. That was 50 years ago.
